There's two types of portraits I've run into in my travels 1) Precision proportioning, masterful detail in all aspects of the face- eyes with an extra, life-like glow in them. Rightly full lips that don't sit askew on top of the chin, a rounded yet not too low chin- and hair that adds a 3D effect. 2) Skewed proportioning, basic detail overall- eyes are just filled in and not paid much attention too. Lips are thin and don't even sit on top of each other- chin drops low and ends up square- hair sits 100% on top and behind the head.
