This is a drawing of a friend of mine whom i had been in some plays with. It is based on one of her senior portrait photos (see below).
This was one of my first serious portrait attempts. (Sept. 2003) While i like the image on it's own, when compared with the photo ref, there are quite a few errors...
Thank you! I had drawn some portriat type drawings before. But this was the first drawing i did where i took a photo and actually tried to draw what i saw.

Very well done and remarkably easy on the eye! The hat may be a size or two too big but never mind that. I could almost imagine it as the hat of a witch, too!
Well, while i don't have the reference photo to scan, i think it's allready online. I'll see if i can find it... But i think the hat was that large in the photo. We'll see...........

Ahkay... [link]
There is the address of the image... I think the hat is as large in the photo (though the feather is larger in the photo). But you can see some other mistakes i made (her smile, nose and eyes are all a bit off)... Anyway... Thanks for the comment!

Thank you! She is a very nice person. Very easy to get along with. She's a theater major which helps explain the hat! You can see more pictures of her (from her senior portraits sessions) here --> [link] ... I might be drawing some more of her in the near future. She's easy on the eyes

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
